9:00 - Arrival and Circle Time

9:30 - Muscle Room/Playground/Specials (music, chapel time)

9:50 - Wash hands/snack

10:15 - Center time (Includes blocks, cars, books, art, manipulatives, dress-up, housekeeping, science and table toys), small group activities including art

11:10 - Clean up and Closing Group

Welcome to Loving Hands Preschool!  We were happy to meet you and your child at orientation.  This looks to be a nice class.  Preschool is very new to us, and it will take some time to get adjusted.  Feel free to stay a few minutes, but then tell your child you love them and you will be back, and go on your way.  If they think you are nearby or in the parking lot they will continue to cry for you.  Go home, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet!

With this newsletter you will also receive your September calendar.  On our calendar you will find themes, our color and shape, and whay your day your child is our helper.  When it is their turn your child will be our line leader, calendar and weather person, and have a chance to talk about and share a toy from home.  It is a special day for your child and they really look forward to it.  Please keep track of your calendar.

We have hooks in the hallway for you to hang your child's things.  Art work and notes home will go under your child's hook on the floor.  We would also like you to provide a change of clothes for your child, in case of spills or accidents.  These can be placed in a large Ziploc and labeled with your child's name.  We will keep them at school and use them as needed.  We do have extra clothes at school, but not all children want to wear them.

We will have two parties this year, Halloween and Valentine's Day.  We have room moms, but you are always invited to stay and help enjoy the day with your child.  The room moms are responsible for planning games, crafts, and snacks.  We have some regulations to follow on snacks and will go over these as it gets closer to party time.  Also, please let us know if you would like to come in and read a story, help out with a craft, or share a special talent or skill.  We ask that you wait to do this until October to give us all a chance to adjust to school.  We love visitors!  I am also looking for someone to do our book orders.  We order books once a month from Scholastic.  Let me know if you are interested.

This year we will be exposed to may new learning situations.  We will work on our school skills of sitting quietly, walking in a line, sharing, talking when it is our turn.  We will learn about being kind, being a good friend and that God is always with us and loves us very much.  We will learn about letters, numbers, shapes, colors and the things we see in our world around us.  This month our shape is a circle., and our color is orange.  On our color day we ask that you let your child wear something orange or bring in something orange.  We have stickers for them to wear if they don't have anything orange.  Color day is September 16.
